History of The Cookie Armada
Recently, many clan members have been asking about the history of the clan and at a meeting we decided that we would attempt to compile a brief history of The Cookie Armada, along with the clans that it has been before we got to where we were today. I will write as much about the leadership, and what the clan has stood for over time, and any other Cookie out there who is willing to provide information pertaining to the history of the clan can contribute. If you read and notice any discrepancies, PM a member of leadership with the information.
In 2009, “Herois Do Mar”, started out with humble beginnings as a Portuguese only clan. Currently the exact founders of the clan are unknown to us, but during the time as a Portuguese clan the leaders were known as “xcov” and “oxie”. Herois Do Mar grew to become the second biggest Portuguese clan on RuneScape and competed for the top spot with another clan. The environment was fiercely competitive and eventually this wore down on the members of the clan, with the leaders opting to move on to other things and handing over the keys. Collectively it was decided that the clan should be opened to the public, for any and all who wished to join. The clan name was also changed to “Raiders of Doom”.
“Nanci” and “Armored God” took up the reigns from there on, with the help of the other Portuguese ranks like our very own Mariana (MissyPT now). During this time the clans favourite activities were Kalphite King, and Kalphite King. We had occasional skilling competitions to encourage clan members to skill and level up, but when it came to scheduled events we had maybe two per week. The clan citadel had hit Tier 7 and got a citadel dragon.
Later, the clan was finally named “The Cookie Armada”. Past keys have included Aaron, Aurfore, Artemis, Vivid Mind, Big Owl, Mordid, Guef, B ubs, Rhythm, Sacrilegious and MissyPT. Leaderships were close-knit and dutiful. During this period, membership levels, recruitment, and events saw great highs. The calendar was full of at least two events a day, and some days had as many as five. The clan Discord server also was created, and has grown into a significant part of the clan community today.
Regarding recent history, when MissyPT stepped down in late 2016, Mordid took over as owner. Leadership was expanded, to include more upper-level ranks. Soon thereafter, Bubs and Mordid became equal co-owners. During this time, we saw the introduction of consistent PvM teams within the clan, including Raids and Angel of Death. Mordid later stepped down, and Bubs took reign as sole owner.
After over a year, due to time restrictions, Bubs, as well as his Deputy Annona, had to step down, handing over the gauntlet to Guef. After a few months Guef stepped down and handed the reigns to Rhythm. Rhythm later handed the reigns down to Legyt, alongside his trusty deputy's, Spiti and Frooty Loop. Legyt's main focus during his run as clan leader was the following: 1.) The return of Mid-High PvM events. 2.) Recruitment. 3.) Social Events. Legyt took part in many PvM events, such as Raids, Vorago, AoD, etc. Under his reign, TCA was at a high point when it came to such events. Spiti would host Raids every other day, while Frooty took on Social Events in and out of Runescape. Legyt's goals were met, and his reign was a pivotal point in TCA's history.
After nine months of leading TCA, Legyt had decided to step down due to real life taking over the majority of his time. The current keys talked it over, and had decided that the next leader of TCA would be Frooty Loop. With Frooty taking over as leader, Spiti remained as deputy and Legyt dropped to overseer until the duo could find a fitting replacement, which did not take too long. Legyt's replacement would be none other than Dos Equis XX. Dos' activity via recruiting and time in the clan chat proved to be a pivotal point in his selection. As a former leader of his own clan, his outstanding leadership would help strengthen the "CooKeys" as Frooty would label the trio. A year would pass, and Dos Eqius would step down due to IRL obligations. His time served with Frooty and Spiti were well deserved. Before his departure, the trio sought out another replacement, this time they would pick TCA's Coordinator Nysonara. Nyson's role within the clan was hosting social events in and outside of Runescape. A fine addition to the Keys.
Today, The Cookie Armada is a bright community, with a fun-loving and free chat. We pride ourselves on a lengthy history, and boast the dedication of all the owners, keys, coordinators, organizers who have ever been a part of our legacy. We hope this brief record of history will make clear some of the timelines. It is worth mentioning that while owners are at the head of the clan, they never succeed without the help of many clan-members and ranks of all kinds who help to build our lovely community. All their names would be too long to include in one document, however they are all appreciated and remembered. The Cookie Armada community is a strong one, and we look forward to the future, and the new chapters that will become part of this document.
We wish you much love and many cookies,
